RORC Red Funnel Easter Challenge
2009 Race on 2xs

Red Funnel Easter Challange Regatta 2009 is organised by RORC (Royal Ocean Racing Club) over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend and is intended as a ‘Warm up / Training’ event for the season

The Red Funnel Easter Challenge is billed as a training regatta and top RYA instructors will be on hand with on-the-water tuition whilst racing and there will be video debriefs afterwards which will give more in-depth analysis.

The coaching team will be made up of the best coaches the yachting world has to offer

“I would describe the Red Funnel Easter Challenge as the first real event of the year, it is the ideal way for new crews to come together and build a team, an opportunity to do a whole weekend’s training for the major events to come later in the season” Said Jim Saltonstall.

There will be a huge variety of boats competing at Easter with hundreds of crew from all walks of life from novices to top professional sailors.

Three days of racing consists of seven inshore round the cans races in the Solent. Each race has reasonably short legs which is perfect for working on teamwork and learning new skills.

2xs Will be running a training day on the Thursday and then be based in cowes for the reggatta.

Our "Book a Berth" events allow individuals an affordable way to get onboard a high class racing yacht & compete to the highest level in major events.

Delivery trips from Eastbourne & Brighton to the Solent & back at £69 per person each way

All crew are expected to muck in with all the jobs around the boat.

Personal travel insurance is Your Responsibility!
Please ensure your policy specifically covers you for sailing as well as the normal personal property, cancellation, accident, emergency and medical insurance.   The boat is of course covered independently.
